Green Shoots Recruitment Ltd is looking for a Web Applications Developer to join their small development team working on end to end self-service applications for locations in Pershore, Worcester City and Malvern.  Using agile development methodology and looking for someone with Java, JavaScript, HTML and database skills.

 

Main Duties

 

 To analyse business requirements, to develop software solutions or implement packaged solutions to meet these requirements.

 To develop, implement and maintain computer systems in accordance with the strategy of the ICT Shared Service and with due regard to the current standards for the development of computer systems.

 Determine, advise and help guide the customer requirements for software development through meetings and documentation.

 Work with other members of team to prepare system specifications.

 Specify project scoping and planning for implementation of the system.

 Prepare  specifications, form designs, screen formats, report formats, operating procedures for data input, plans for transfer to new system, design database, system testing procedures and user acceptance procedures.

 Write and test computer systems and create databases in accordance with approved design, using development aids where identified as appropriate and implement following agreed guidelines/standards

 Assist operations and support staff with the resolution of operational problems.

 Revise and amend systems and programs where corrections, system changes, improvements or database administration are required.

 Assist with technical guidance and on-the-job training of less experienced staff and check work of colleagues as required.

 Keep up to date with development techniques by attending lectures, seminars, training courses and reading technical material as directed by senior staff.

 

Person Specification

 

 At least three years practical experience of systems design and development.

 At least 2 years’ experience of software development using programming SQL, Java, Java Script.

 Experience of an extensive range of industry standard technologies used in software design and development including at least three of the following – ODBC, ADO, DAO, OLE, COM, API, ActiveX, DLLs, DTS, JSON, Eclipse, Glassfish.

 Experience of programming languages currently using TSQL, C, C++, VB Script, HTML, VBA, ASP, XHTML)

 Degree or equivalent qualification in ICT related subject.

 Experience of developing database driven applications.

 An ability to work effectively as part of a project team

 An ability to work in a logical and methodical manner, with or without direct supervision

 Experience of working to an agile development methodology and within an agile development team.
