Overview

The Creative Studio are looking for a Traffic Manager to become part of its energetic and diverse team. You will work between the designers, editorial staff and front-end developers to ensure the smooth resourcing of all projects.

Ideally you will have worked as a Traffic or Production Manager in a creative agency environment. You will have experience in daily and longer term planning and resourcing. You will be managing the resourcing of print and digital projects on small and large scale jobs (all running to different timescales), as well as liaising external suppliers.

As the Traffic Manager you will need to be a confident, process driven and highly organised individual – someone who can think on their feet, be proactive, self-motivated and calm under pressure. Above all, you will be approachable with a ‘can do’ attitude.

The role involves supervising artists, delegating projects to staff, setting priorities to meet deadlines, troubleshooting and other production jobs that fall outside the job description of other personnel in a creative and editorial studio.

Although this is neither a technical nor creative role, you will have an understanding of the creative processes and challenges involved, and be excited by the creative industry. 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•    Ensure all briefs are dispatched in the studio based on personnel’s strengths and skills
•    Maintain and enhancing our workflow structure
•    Review daily work schedule of the creative studio and ensuring work is delivered to deadlines
•    Manage daily resourcing and capacity of over 60 team members, both permanent and freelance.
•    Manage overall studio workflow of up to 50 projects at one time, using resource-tracking tool and keep all departments informed about project status and dispatching workload appropriately
•    Source and brief in freelance resource as and when required in order to deliver projects on time, and on budget.
•    Maintain and build strong working relationships with recruitment agencies, negotiating rates and terms in order to minimise cost and attract the best talent.
•    Liaise with Senior Management Team to pre-empt bottlenecks during peak trading.
•    Meet and build relationships with 3rd party production and other creative / suppliers companies on going and for specific requirements.
 
Skills and experience you will need:
•    Exceptional at multitasking with a strong understanding of web, plus sound print knowledge
•    Excellent verbal and written communication with excellent attention to detail
•    Dynamic, innovative and lateral thinking skills
•    Change leader – motivated by operating in a changing, flexible environment
•    Confident, impartial personality, highly proactive, calm, organised and an objective thinker
•    Have previously worked in a creative studio environment within a fast paced industry
•    PC & Mac literate (understanding of Creative Suite desirable but not essential)
•    Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (advanced Excel essential) with advanced knowledge of design and production software
•    Strong understanding of interactive media production processes and resource management tool(s)
•    Knowledge of the requirements of the relevant Health and Safety legislation and procedures
•    Excellent organisational skills, proven leadership skills and financial management experience
•    Ability to meet deadlines under stressful environments and motivate a team with a wide range of fields.
