Overview

Our client, a well-established and effective charity in Hampshire are currently recruiting for a Major Donor Fundraiser to join their successful team. The role will involve developing and project-managing all stages of the Major Gifts programme, including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

You will be an experienced fundraiser with a strong background in major donor fundraising and relationship building as well as experience of making “asks” for significant donations face to face.

Major Donor Fundraiser Duties Include:

1. Developing a clear case for support to engage and secure interest in the charity’s work
2. Working with the Chief Executive, Trustees and Directors to build relationships with key influencers and high net worth individuals
3. Developing enduring and mutually beneficial relationships and solicit large gifts from high net worth individuals
4. Creating, implementing and monitoring a programme of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors
5. Research and identify future prospects, coordinating approaches to ensure their appropriate introduction to the charity
6. Facilitate discussions with influential individual supporters or key decision makers and appropriately make the fundraising “ask”
7. Work with the fundraising team to drive forward financial growth and build a base of committed and influential supporters
8. Major Donor Fundraiser Skills Required:
9. Solid background in major donor fundraising
10. Excellent relationship building skills
11. Excellent attention to detail
12. Ability to produce material for internal and external audiences
13. Excellent skills in relationship building with high net worth individuals and trustees
14. Ability to interact socially with high value individuals from all sectors
15. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to targets and deadlines
16. Resourcefulness and the ability to research information to answer a wide range of queries
