Overview
We’re looking for a talented designer to play a crucial role in a dynamic studio. For an enthusiastic, responsible candidate with experience in creating and developing brands and the skills to apply them across events, environments, print and digital, and a great opportunity to be part of an expanding company with a great culture.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is a must, as are good presentation skills and the ability to explain thought processes and design decisions through solid rationale where needed. Digital expertise and additional languages are highly advantageous.
Working directly with clients, with an assigned account manager or as part of a group project, the Senior Designer is responsible for managing, executing and delivering graphic design work across creative, print and digital. You will need to be passionate about design and possess a solid awareness of different styles and executions in order to respond creatively to a wide range of briefs, as well an astute understanding of brand communications and how to implement creative consistently as part of a wider strategy. Good communication skills, including presenting ideas clearly and confidently to clients and the ability to craft professional emails and other correspondence, are crucial. The Senior Designer will be responsible for the management of a supporting, middleweight designer, and ultimately tasked with growing the agencies design offering as the natural candidate to assume the role of Creative Director in the mid- to long-term. As projects require, this may include procuring and managing freelance resources in response to particular briefs. The Senior Designer will report directly to the Executive Directors and will perform the following
• Executing and presenting finalised ideas and concepts to clients or account managers
• Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work
• Contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief
• Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches
• Working on layouts and artworking pages ready for print
• Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media
• Managing the time and output of a supporting, middleweight designer and promoting a good working relationship within the design team
• Maintaining an organised archive of completed work, as well as timesheets for the design team •
